Things are not always as they seem . . .

A teenager charged with drowning her newborn sounds like an open and shut case for the prosecution.  Or is it? Can there be any plausible reason this mother, an otherwise “good girl”, would deny her pregnancy, the birth, and the drowning?  

That’s what Victoria Stephens, the mother's court appointed defense lawyer, must figure out, despite her misgivings about who she is representing. If and when she figures it out, will Victoria feel differently about her client?  Will you?
